| - This place is the cat's meow! If I could give it more than 5 stars I would! So much to say!
The reception staff:
They are soooooo sweet, friendly, and sympathetic. I called them for my kitty, who needed a check up, and got an appointment for a couple days after! They were absolutely lovely on the phone, and let me know that new kitty paperwork was on their website for faster service.
On your first appointment day, you have to meet with the doctor in-person. So, don't go in thinking you are just going to drop off your kitty unless you have been told otherwise or you are an existing kitty patient. This just goes to show their level of care between the cat and their care giver.
OK, let's talk about the office:
How this place isn't stinky, I'll never know! IT IS SPOTLESS. It actually smells good! I didn't see ANY cat hair in the waiting room or patient rooms. I noticed that the cats that are being kept or boarded have a giant kitty play area with tons of toys and really nice habitats (not cages, but plexi glass boxes with cubby holes). There was even a big TV that was looping bird and mice videos, which had the cats totally captivated. It was very different to be in an office where the cats aren't crying and howling; they were quiet and seemed very content. The office has a lot of transparent rooms, so you can see the cats and the cats can get entertainment from seeing you.
Now, the nurses and doctors:
Ah! They are so amazing! My cat is super timid and she hates strangers. I was shocked how calm she was here. The nurses and Dr. Berquist did not use any force whatsoever to examine her. They gently spoke to her and gave her compliments. I could tell she was thinking "These are my people!"
Dr. Berquist is extremely knowledgeable. You can tell that not does she know cats, but she's seen and treated it all. That being said, your kitty is treated as a special individual. My appointment ended up costing quite a lot, so Dr. Berquist came up with different financial options for me. Of course, I went with the most expensive and comprehensive option (A cat is a family member and should be treated as such). Dr. Berquist did not rush our appointment; in fact, it was quite the opposite. She went into great detail about my kitty's condition and how we could handle it. She didn't make assumptions, or give me absolutes. She was very realistic that there are still so much about cats we do not know.
I can't express how happy I am with this place. Never in my life have met such a caring group of veterinarians and cat lovers. I think my cat actually ENJOYED going to the vet!
