| - This is a little long, but it's well worth the read. Please do NOT use Brake Masters for major car repair issues. I have been using this location since January 2013 getting oil changes. One of the managers, Kirk, was always nice and gave me a military discount each visit. I built up a trust with him and that company. Sadly in August 14th that relationship got terminated by how I was treated.
I had contacted Kirk and told him that my truck was hesitating to crank when I turned my key in the ignition. He asked me to bring it in, and he'd have his team run diagnostics on it. I brought it in, and they ran the diagnostic. Kirk told me he thinks it's a fuel pump problem and there is no coding for that. I left to discuss it and to see about arranging to have one installed. On Aug 14th, I took my truck there in the morning, and the head manager, Dave, was there to work with me. He told me him and Kirk spoke and that he was aware of everything. Dave had a team work on my truck for nearly 4 hours. The pump would connect properly, so they placed my old one back on, and said they'd have to order a new one. I will please need to come back 15 Aug to have the second new one installed.
I went back on 15 Aug and Kirk was there this time. Kirk had his guys install the second new one and they finished that in almost half the time. All required checks had been done, and all was well. Or so I thought...
That following Monday, 18 Aug, I had to be at work by 10am and off by 5pm. When I proceeded to crank my truck, it was still horrible; that fuel pump did NOT resolve my problem. I didn't have time to at that moment, so I went to work. Tuesday was the same deal. I finally opted to go Wednesday after work to Toyota as they will do a full diagnostic AND not try to scam anyone.
Went to Toyota on Wednesday, and they did the diagnostic. I was shown everything from that test. The actual problem was my battery. It was almost dead. I opted to go home and talk it over. I came back Thursday to Toyota and asked them to please replace the battery. They did; while that was being changed, I called Brake Masters to inform of this situation.
On Friday, I went back to Brake Masters and discussed all this and eventually we said we would be submitting a Formal Letter from our lawyer in regards to this matter. Kirk asked us to hold on while he goes to the back. All in all, Kirk got us the old fuel pump back, reimbursed my full dollar amount, and I told him I would never come back again. My truck STILL works with my old fuel pump and new battery.
