| - There's some great things about Sienna: (1) Great location, nestled right next to Nola in the heart of the square (2) Heavy Pours! (I'll be back for a happy hour in the not too distant future) (3) Atmosphere. One thing I wished it had, but didn't find, was food so good it would keep me coming back! We started with the tomato bisque and the sausage, potato, and kale soup- for me this was the highlight of the meal. The tomato bisque had just the right balance of acid and cream, and was served with a grilled crostini. The sausage and kale soup was also very tasty and full of their homemade sausage, which we later ordered as a side- it was so good! We thought this was a lead up to some phenomenal mains, but we were a little disappointed. We tried the beef ravioli, which unfortunately had a creamy tomato sauce very similar to the bisque, and the prosciutto and arugula flatbread. I LOVE prosciutto and arugula, but in my opinion it's best served simple with a little bit of olive oil, a couple of shaves of spicy parmesan, and cracked black pepper. The flatbread had a tomato and melted mozzarella base. Together, with the prosciutto and parmesan, this was just too salty for me. The service is top notch and the bartender was incredibly attentive (try the lost at sea, you won't regret it!); these 2 factors certainly contributed to their "Best New Restaurant of Pittsburgh 2013" title. Overall and all things considered, I will be back to try more from the menu- this place has too much going for it for me not to give it another shot! Hopefully you'll see this review upgraded in a month or two!
