I hadn't heard of Sushi Koma until it was recommended by a friend, so I decided to try it out. My first impressions were that it was small, well decorated and had friendly staff. Most AYCE sushi places I have been to in Vegas have been small or medium in size but I think this was the smallest one yet. Most of the tables are smaller than normal, so I wouldn't order TOO much food at one time. There are 2 tables that are bigger that were meant for groups and most of the tables are set up for 2 people or 4 when you combine them. I liked the feeling in there and the decorations and art on the walls gave a nice feeling to the place.
The sushi here is solid. There were a couple rolls that I really liked(PB Roll, shashimi roll) and a few that were your standard AYCE type of rolls. The thing I liked about their menu was how they a large 'spicy roll' section because I love spicy sushi. They also had a section of sushi rolls for 'non-raw fish' which I thought was a good idea because I know many people who don't or won't eat any raw fish. One drawback was they had 1 per person limits on a few more items than usual. Their baked mussels were very good and I very much so wanted to order more but just one per person. For dessert you also get just one item and so I went with the coffee mochi. It was pretty good, not the best mochi I've ever had but it was nice. My buddy got ice cream that he said was freaking amazing. I apologize I don't remember the name of it but he doesn't even like ice cream so that speaks to something since he actually liked it.
Sushi Koma is a small place with a good atmosphere, good sushi and really good service. I will be back here again even with all of the AYCE sushi competition in town
