This restaurant is truly a hidden gem. It is located about 2 miles from the hustle and bustle of the strip.
The restaurant probably won't catch your eye from the outside, but once you step inside it is like you stepped back in time. The dimly lit restaurant is reminiscent of old Las Vegas with it's dark upholstered booths and red wall paper. The combination of 1940s swing music and Frank Sinatra classics complete the feel.
TIP: happy hour is every day from 5 to 8pm. This includes drink specials as well as 50% off every steak.
One of my favorite things about Herbs and Rye is the drink menu. It highlights between four to six drinks from different eras over the past few hundred years in America. These drinks were invented during those time periods and the menu explains who invented it and where. I've sampled quite a few of the drinks and my favorite is the Bee's Knees which is a gin drink. The tiki drinks from the 1960s era is also a favorite and they are served in tiki glasses. All cocktails from this menu are $12 and the tiki drinks are $14.
The dinner menu features a few appetizers and salads but the main draw is the steaks. Every steak comes with one side. The sides are big enough to share. My go to meal is the filet mignon with a side of the truffle Mac and cheese. The steak is phenomenal but the Mac is the best I've ever had.
Herbs and Rye is perfect for a romantic date night or night out with friends. Do make a reservation several days in advance.
