  • The first time I shopped at Merchant was last December. I was looking at suppressors which I knew very little about, but I was impressed with the amount of knowledge the sales staff had and ended up buying a Ty-rant 45 made by AAC. James (my salesman) advised me that the owner was holding a shoot near Maricopa in early January and I should try to attend it. The shop brought a large selection of suppressed weapons and I was provided ammo and my choice of weapons to try out. WOW!! What an invitation!! I was able to try out suppressed shotguns, high powered rifles, 22's and they even brought out a fully auto 9mm and suppressed to try. I had invited three extra people to come along with me and they were all treated the same as myself. A customer with potential customers. You won't get treatment like this from any of the big box stores like Cabela's or Sportsman's Warehouse for sure. Thanks again Erin for that opportunity to try things out . Anyhow, the day before my tax stamp arrived I ended up with a serious problem with my 45. I had a loaded round stuck in the chamber and I was unable to move the slide to the rear to extract the loaded round. The de-cocker released when I pulled the trigger which locked the slide forward. I have no idea why. The slide would move about 1/8 inch rearward, but that was it. It was rock solid blockage after that slight rearward movement. Now I had a can-but no firearm to use it on!! Again I made a trip from my west valley home to see if Merchant had an on-site gunsmith. I walked into the shop and recognized Erin and inquired about the gunsmith. He said no on the smith, but asked what kind of issue I was having. I explained and he told me to bring it in. I did and I went next door to the retail store to look at more suppressors. Ten minutes later Erin walked back over to where I was standing and set my gun case on the counter and said it's all set to go!! Really? I already had one gunsmith look at it and said it would be $130 to dis-assemble it, remove the round and re-assemble. Two hours worth of work. Another AR15 manufacturer from the east valley looked at it and could do nothing. Yet Erin was done in ten minutes!! Needless to say I bought another can today!! I would rate the treatment at this store a TEN on a five star rating. They exceeded expectations in all aspects of my visits and highly recommend their store. I will continue making the nearly 40 mile drive for my major purchases for service like theirs. (Driving right past Cabela's) Thanks again Merchant.
