| - The first time I had services at this salon it was just ok. Nothing to rave about. But I booked again just to give the place a chance and well, what can I say... it went pretty much to the 1 star place. Here is what I learned at Distilled Beauty Bar.....if there is a coffee bar attached to the salpn, you now have to pay for a cup of java while you have your services.....I'm pretty sure that is a first in Calgary.....and the coffee was not even decent. And also, be careful not to make any comments to the gal doing your nails about the chair being uncomfortable or that you wish they had a soaking portion for the manicure, or that the coffee is not good.... or anything else such as asking the clearly inexperienced nail gal to please re-shape my nails cause then the nail gal might do to you what she did to me... she went to the owner and said I'm not sure what, but the owner came over to me and told me if I did not like it at Distilled I could just leave and go somewhere else. When I asked her why she was saying this to me she wouldn't give me any information. She just shut me down.
Here is what I would like to say to the owner.
1/ If you don't know how many nail salons there are in this town, you need to find out.
2/ If you or your staff don't like to hear a bit of negative feedback or questions about the salon, then I hope you have a boatload of friends and family to keep the uncomfortable chairs full.
3/ If you can't take a moment to get the client's side of an issue before tossing them out, well then I would suggest that you are far too arrogant to be in a client service business. Maybe you don't know that it is by paying heed to your clients' issues and concerns that you will see your business move forward.
The old adage, "The customer is always right" remains valid today.
4/ And as far as me going somewhere else, I will, happily. And I will go and support a salon where if there is a problem, they will listen, and try to fix it, and pour me another cup of java.....on the house.
