  • Welcome to my second home! Haha I'm a Junior at UNLV and have spent many days in this library studying and cramming for exams. The cool thing about it is they have quiet rooms which are really nice. Also at my old university, they charged us for scantrons. But at the circulation desk they give them out for free here! Yaay. Two scantrons a day per student is the limit. One day I panicked because I left my student ID at home and I really needed to print out an assignment before class. I went up to the help desk and they printed it out for me. For free! Yes. Don't lose your student ID, it will cost around $20 to replace! The study rooms for groups are awesome. I made good use of those last semester. Last semester it was a first come first serve basis but now you can RESERVE them, so you are guaranteed a study room, which is a nice change. At the UNLV library page online is where you can go to reserve a study room. They also have monitors in each room and you can rent out mouses and keyboards free of charge for a few hours at a time. 3rd and 4th floors are quiet floors. 5th floor is a hang out/chill floor. Pros: spacious, clean, you can see which computers are available to work on by using the monitor on the first floor (green is available, red is not available), quiet rooms you can reserve, whiteboards available, opened until midnight, coffee bean on the first floor, chargers/plug ins are around every corner, friendly help desk, laptop rentals, and free wifi (of course) Cons: sketchy cell service sometimes! best cell reception is probably on the first floor. ***Tip: $0.03 per black and white page, students get 2 free scantrons a day, and parking after 7 pm behind the library is free!
