If you're looking for a fine dining establishment...well, this isn't it. And by that I mean, this is a place to stop in and either (a) eat in your car (I've yet to venture inside, it's typically slammed!) or (b) if you live 10 minutes away as we do, take it home and devour it there. This is no frills food but it is good.
My husband and I have ventured to Bar-B-Q King a few times now and have yet to be disappointed. When we're in the mood for some quick grub that is better than fast food, this is what we seek out. I've gotten the dipped BBQ chicken (it was unique and delicious, definitely something I've never had anywhere else) and the seafood platter. My husband as had the chicken liver sandwich (he's adventurous) and the BBQ combo plate. We've enjoyed the fries, onion rings, the hush puppies (maybe the best I've ever had), and the slaw (which isn't my favorite). The service has been good though we typically end up waiting for our food longer than we'd like (we normally go during dinner time and they're slammed) but that is a small hiccup.
Overall, I firmly believe Bar-B-Q King is worth at least one visit so you can give this historic drive-in a whirl.
