Very disappointed with Larry H. Miller Chrysler Jeep Avondale. I could not recommend using this service department - EVER!!!
I am a Air Force Veteran with a Chrysler 300 with veteran plates. I took my car in because it was stalling and going into idle limp-mode. The service department said they took it for a test drive and ran it in the bay for a couple of hours after they cleared the codes and nothing happened so they just changed the oil (my request) and air bag recall part (my request). I drove it to LA and almost got stuck with the amount of times the engine stalled. I made it back by restarting the car every time it went into limp mode. Over the next few days, I went on the Chrysler forums and learned what could be the problem. I decided to change the spark plugs. When I removed the upper manifold, I saw soot inside the manifold. I changed the spark plugs, checked the EGR pipe, wiped the soot out of the throttle body but still had the problem. So I did some more reading and cleaned the manifold air pressure (MAP) sensor. So far, so good.
Now my whole reason for writing this is the disappointment I felt when confronting Dustin (service associate). He made me feel like he was just "Going through the motions" and really didn't care. All he needed to do was have his mechanics do a diagnostic check of the sensors and perhaps give it a tune up and he would have found what I found. (I still need to replace the PVC cause it must not be closing hence the reason for the soot in the manifold).
Anyhow, I feel such disappointment, neglect, and unwelcome to this dealer. I have been taking my car to this dealer since I bought it in 2005. They have always treated me well and resolved my problem until Larry Miller took over. They have no concessions for a person driving in off the road with an anomaly. Everything seems to be driven by an appointment. Now how can you plan your car stalling? Very disappointed with Larry H. Miller Chrysler Jeep Avondale. I could not recommend using this service department - EVER!!!
