| - I've stayed at Palms Place over the last few years quite a few times. The rooms are beautiful, spacious, and have amazing views. I wish they would still allow access onto the balconies, but I guess that's for safety reasons.
I booked my room weeks in advance for a two day stay over Memorial Day weekend. Luckily, I happened to call the hotel to confirm my stay the morning of because it was only then they inform me that there will be a $250 per night deposit for my room because I am a local Las Vegas resident. It seemed quite ridiculous to me that because I am local I would have to pay more that someone from out of state. Considering locals bring regular business, you'd think they would have less of a deposit. Despite my reservations I continued with my staycation. Upon arriving to the hotel, check in was very long and drawn out because since I prepaid for the room without knowledge of the deposit, I asked for the deposit to be place on a separate credit card. It took two front desk employees to figure out how exactly to do that transaction, and ended up charging my card $556 for the deposit instead of the agreed upon $500. They said the money would return to my card after check out, so I went on with my staycation. The next day they charge my card again for $400! I call the front desk and they say that they don't see that on their end, so it must be a problem with my bank (which is closed on a holiday weekend). The $956 took more than a week to be refunded to my account and Palms Place didn't have a clue why the extra $400 was taken out.
A weekend that was supposed to cost about $300 ended up costing me $1200! The management and staff refused to look into the matter other than saying "it should return to your account in 5-7 days." They were also not apologetic at all about the entire situation, which would have helped some.
