  • Gave birth 5 months ago at Estrella and was really pleased with the staff. From check in to discharge everyone was great. I checked in on a Saturday and left on Tuesday. My labor and delivery nurse was Shar and she went above and beyond her call of duty to make sure I and my baby were comfortable during the whole ordeal. The postpartum nurses were also really nice specially the night ones . I was also really impressed with the night time nurses aids, there were 3 of them; a Hispanic, Asian and Anglo lady working together. Them 3 also went above and beyond to help me. The day time nurses and aids weren't that memorable. In fact, they left a collection tray in my toilet all day and would just go in there to look but neither would dump it even though it was full. My room was right outside the nurses stations and boy were they loud. It's hard getting good rest after a baby but they made it impossible. Right around 4 or 5 in the morning all the yapping and laughing started waking me and baby up. Another thing is that my room never got cleaned in all 3 days I was there. A lady popped in once and asked if I needed anything, after I said no she left a card saying she had cleaned the room! It wasn't till then that I realized she was the janitor. She lied! She didn't clean my room, how was I supposed to know she was the cleaning lady if she didn't say so or if she didn't specifically ask to clean or at least change the sheets! It wasn't until the day I was getting ready to check out that a different cleaning lady came by and actually introduced herself and asked if I wanted my sheets changed or room cleaned. I really liked that the visiting hours are at all times, no restrictions. The menu was a la carte which was also nice and food was good. I have had kids at 4 different hospitals and in 3 different states and the best has been Estrella, the thing I liked best is that after c section they allow you to stay with baby at all times even during recovery. This is the only hospital that has allowed this, my husband and I where with baby at all times during our stay. Another plus is that they are breast feeding friendly, they have been the only hospital that has not formula fed my baby without my consent. I would definitely deliver another baby there but would ask for a room as far away from the nurses station as possible
