  • You don't find knowledgeable and warm doctors like this anymore. I had an unexpected day off and called to see if there was any chance of possibly getting an appt. to have an itchy and painful rash on my leg examined. Dr. Woods has a surgery procedure to attend but the office staff was able to get me in. He carefully examined the rash and knew exactly what it was -- eczema, ask me what I have tried in the past, how effective they were, my family history, prescribed me the medication, explained the best way to maximize the effectiveness of the medication, gave me cortisone shots that immediately relieved my irritation, and even offered additional advice for my newborn daughter's skincare. I didn't feel like he was trying to rush me out. I have seen 2 doctors about this condition who did not tell me what I had nor were they able to cure it for me. I was told by other doctors that it's "just an infection" or "you have to exercise and eat better", but no one could tell me what it was or was able to treat it. In my ONE visit to Dr. Woods, he was able to diagnose it, explain it, prescribe the correct medication to me, how to prevent it, how to treat it in the future should it come back, and how to care for my newborn daughter's skin. I felt normal again just from the cortisone shots and with just 2 applications of the prescribed medication, the rash (that 2 doctors could not get rid of for over a year) was GONE! And the office staff? TRULY, TRULY AMAZING. Genuinely kind and patient, from the moment I called, the time I was there registering as a new patient, to the moment I left. I think the biggest complaint most doctor offices get is about their staff (i.e. rude, impatient, not helpful or sympathetic, and difficult). I cannot begin to tell the staff how grateful I am that they were able to somehow fit me in with no prior notice and did it in such a professional and friendly way. I don't know how they did it, but Desert Sky has put together an incredible team. God forbid my daughter develops eczema or my family has develops any type of dermatological issues in the future, but if we do, I have finally found a Dr and staff that I trust. Too bad Dr. Woods isn't our family physician.
