The staff at this hotel are uniformly pleasant, knowledgable and professional. In that sense it is a step up from the other Station Casinos properties. The pool is also a very nice place to relax - it is probably the best thing about the hotel, after the people.
Otherwise, this is a glorified Fiesta. Scratch that - even the lowliest Fiesta hotel room has a view. If you're lucky, you'll get a view of a parking garage at GVR - some rooms have views of walls. The high rates do go far in keeping some (but not all) of the riff-raff away, though in addition to the rates you will get nickel-and-dimed with resort fees, upgraded internet access fees (it's an extra ten bucks per night if you want a reliable connection for streaming), and insane prices in the gift shop and other outlets (three bucks for a bottle of Corona, three bucks for an iced tea in an eight-ounce cup at the pool).
It's a Courtyard that tries to pass itself off as a bargain-priced Four Seasons, but the design is defective. If you can get in here for 70 bucks a night (including the resort fee) and low expectations then go for it, otherwise you will feel short-changed.
