I'm left feeling guilty for referring my uninsured friend to this office. I called and inquired about how much a regular cleaning would be for a patient without insurance, as was the case for my friend. They informed me that they had a "New Patient Special" for $99, so I made the appointment. Immediately following the appointment the referral informed me that all they did was take x-rays and tell him that he only qualified for a $1000 "deep cleaning," not a "basic cleaning." They then would not provide the basic cleaning that we scheduled but still charged him $99! I called to express my dissatisfaction but was offered little remorse, only a "Sorry, tough luck" kind of response. The receptionist tried to play it off as though receiving x-rays for only $99 was still a good deal, but a cleaning is specifically what I asked for when making the appointment and was specifically what I was told the "Special" would include. Are we really ripping off people without insurance? And then once you get them in there try to rope them into a much more expensive service... Can you say bait and switch?
