| - My wife took me out there for my birthday, last Friday the 23rd. This was not our first visit but the first over night. Its really a nice place, far enough out of town to be out of town but still close to home. When checking in, the staff was very nice even said Happy Birthday. Assigned a room and off we went. It is true, its dated but the room was clean and nice. Love the hallway pictures of history. Rock garden out near the pool is awesome. The same night they had a wedding and outdoor reception, was very nicely done. Dinner in the dining room, excellent, but very lonely. Only 3 other couples. The resort was pretty empty, too bad. We retired to our room around 10pm and then about midnight the wedding party was over and the hotel staff had stuck us right in the middle of the wedding party. I don't understand that at all. So many empty rooms yet, put us right in the middle of all the loud drunks, yelling and door slamming. I guess I need to add that to my list of requests, no smoking room, not near the elevator or the ice machine. Now I have to ask (and should never need to) don't put us among the wedding party. Its a real shame to spoil it like that.
