| - I've walked past Ethel M countless times, and I'm not much of an indulgent type person and my airport food or beverage purchases are usually water and a basic snack if I know I won't have a meal for a while.
Yesterday on my way home, back to McCarran, I actually wanted some chocolate and figured at the gas station filling up I'd grab a chocolate bar or something. Walking toward baggage claim I saw this shop, and it called me in. At first I was in a little sticker shock at the prices, and even though he boasted no preservatives and such, there are a few and soy lecithin is not a good one. I digress; I still wanted chocolates and I built my own box of 12 for $21.00, almost having buyers remorse when I handed her my card because I have never paid that much for that little.
I got in my car and immediately opened the box, looking for the first one calling my name and WOW! Nothing short of the best chocolate I have ever tasted!! Maybe it was because I just "needed" it, or maybe because it was so expensive, but I had high hopes and Ethel M did not let me down. I planned to only eat 3, but on my 3 hour drive home I excused my tiredness for the need of more chocolate (caffeine) and ate 3 more, so 6 in total but I skipped dinner so that is good right?
I especially LOVED the Lemon Satin Dark Chocolate, Sea Salted Caramel, and the Espresso Truffle.
I know it will now be very hard to walk by here without spending money, but I know my favorites and I'll just buy one, or maybe 3, but definitely no more than 12.
