I never get to fully enjoy any restaurants on the strip but because it was Restaurant Week, I figured this would be the best opportunity. I've been wanting to try Jaelo for their Paella, as a friend had recommended it. The pre-fix menu consisted of Tichi's Gazpach, which was a very refreshing summer soup; it was chilled! Ensalada Verde Con Achoas & than the main entree of Paella; chicken & mushroom. I love the flavors of latin food so I of course had to compliment my meal with a beverage; the sangria! It offered the perfect amount of fruity-ness yet refreshing with their basil in it. As Jaleo is known for tapas, in addition to our order we had to at least try another dish or two. We tried the cured chorizo and their version of brushetta. The chorizo is highly recommended; definitely small bites but the flavor was amazing and a little kick as well. The brushetta, well its a bit salty for my liking and would probably pass on this. But my main dish, the paella. It reminded me of a rice bowl with protein and veggies mixed in. I've never had paella before so I am unsure the flavor I was hoping to capture. However, the production and presentation is worth it in the end. They cook this in the open flame right in the open area towards the back. Once completed, bells are ringing and people say PPPAAAEEELLLLAA!
Loved the open concept of the restaurant; very hip and trendy. Bar area offers a great atmosphere to mingle with the locals/tourist alike. It is also a great area to people watch as the restaurant opens towards the open foyer.
