I had a girlfriend in town last month and decided to try Echo and Rig for brunch. We both ordered the quiche and a crab cake on the side. The quiche was really enjoyable and light, served with some mixed greens. My friend ordered the crab cake and it was ALL crab and quite filling.
I decided to head back a few weeks later for a birthday dinner. We ordered a HUGE bone in ribeye which was fantastic. It was cooked more rare than medium which is what I asked for, but since it was shared I just ate the more cooked areas. We also tried the lamb cigars, chopped salad, portabello fries and roastic garlic mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes really stood out in my opinion and I would be happy to order them again. My brother loved the lamb cigars--they definitely had a strong lamb flavor but the tatziki sauce added` a nice balance. I typically love portabello fries, but I feel like I could take or leave the portabello fries here as the batter was a little thick for my taste. My aunt can be a little picky with her food but she seemed to really enjoy the chopped salad with cilantro dressing. They also brought out ice cream for her birthday was so delicious and a great end to a great meal!
The service both times I visited this restaurant was truly exceptional. I would be happy to return here with company or to celebrate a special occasion.
