| - When it comes to cars and woman, I admit I don't know a thing. This place is so bad, the photos don't match the business. Went to Pep Boys to check out why my check engine warning light was on. They advertise free check engine light diagnosis. Well it's not free, charged $89.00, then if you get vehicle fixed, the deduct the cost. That told me I had air in the fuel line. I need a new gas cap, and an Auto vapor canister solenoid. They changed me over $300.00. When I got home checked the cost of the solenoid, for my vehicle, the expensive one was $88.00, they charged me $114.00. The gas cap was $28.00, usual cost around $15-20, so just a little higher. Labor was $150.00, plus a $29.00 shop fee, they did not mention up front. When I got home I remembered the last time I got gas my gas cap was not seated properly which probably caused the check engine warning light to go on. Well P.T. Barnum was right, but this sucker will never step foot in another Pep Boys store ever again.
