  • In all of Clark County there is only one place where you can buy replacement parts for Air Conditioner units. It was about 120 degrees the other day and the A/C unit was dieing. I was pretty sure it was the capacitor because 9 out of 10 times when your A/C starts blowing out hot air, it's always that damn capacitor. Back when I lived in California, there was at least 5-6 of these type of stores in the area I lived in. So due to competition, the prices were considerably lower. I could get a capacitor for about $25-$35. Here at APPLIANCE PARTS, they have the luxury of being the only place in all of the Valley that sells Capacitors to the public. So, it cost over $50. I couldn't complain because I ain't gonna find it anywhere else. I had to drive here from the Providence district of Las Vegas which is only about 10 minutes from Mt. Charleston. It's a pretty long drive, so originally I actually was thinking about stealing a capacitor from one of the many foreclosed houses on my street, or my neighbor who is a total pothead and wouldn't notice me doing so. It literally takes like 2 minutes to rip off a capacitor from an A/C unit, but most my neighbors were already pissed at me for dumping my old used motor oil into their bushes the last time I changed my car's oil, so I thought I should lay off them for a while. If I called an HVAC tech, they would have charged me $200+ for that new capacitor and labor. I saved a lot of money by doing it myself. HVAC techs will always feed you lies about how fixing your A/C unit by yourself is "dangerous" and "you could die", but as long as you remember to turn off your power, you won't get your face like "totally exploded" or sh!t. I've called HVAC techs and believe me, they are NOT professionals. They make tons of mistakes, they are sloppy, they lose screws, and misplace everything. I once had an HVAC tech forget to turn off the AC Power before he touched the Capacitor. So, since then I decided it was best if I did all my A/C repairs myself. Also, most HVAC techs are jerks and don't deserve your money. Like many small family operated businesses, APPLIANCE PARTS does not honor refunds. There are no refunds on anything they sell even if the item is defective. Sure, this may cause problems with customer satisfaction. The area this place is located at isn't the best. After I purchased my capacitor, I walked out the door and noticed some weird guy pressing his face against the window of my car. I was like: "Hey!", and he just skips off into the alley. He didn't do nothing, but I thought it was weird. Customer Service here was actually really good. The employees were quite friendly and knowledgeable. This is just one of those places that will always be in business. Yelp has no effect on this place. No matter if this place gets a hundred 1-star ratings, people will still come here because they got no choice. I'm giving this place 5-stars because I got exactly what I needed, and the workers gave good service.
