I almost adopted a dog today, but the experience I had with the lady at the front desk got me postpone the adopting process. I understand that it is a big commitment with adopting a dog; therefore I wanted as much information as possible. Not to mention this would have been my first time adopting a dog from an animal shelter. The woman who was checking me out questioned me like I would be a terrible dog owner. I felt like these AF volunteers just wanted to get rid of these poor dogs as soon as possible. I don't feel they were compassionate enough to help these animals and adopters. While I was there, another lady was dragging a Chihuahua and it didn't want to go with her. This lady kept on pulling the leash to make it go. Couldn't she just spend a few mins and comfort the poor dog which must have been mistreated before and did not trust her enough to follow her?
Some people shouldn't be a volunteer at an animal shelter. Volunteering there doesn't make you a compassionate person. Very sad indeed!
