| - Ross Park is a nice place to go to when you have some time to kill on a weekend or something. Even if you don't intend to buy anything, just walking around and people watching is in itself a relaxing activity. Frequently we find ourselves coming here just for lunch at the food court, specifically Sarku Japan, because where else can you find a delicious (and probably unhealthy) $6-7 Asian meal with lots of meat? Cheesecake Factory and CPK are also good options for a more full-on meal setting.
Ross Park has essentially all the stores I like to browse as a 20-something graduate student. There are the major ones like Macy's and JCP, as well as Nordstrom and Sears (the latter of which I personally don't go to). Lots and lots of the smaller but still influential stores, including AE, Aero, Gap, Old Navy, Abercrombie, Express, PacSun, H&M, Banana, and a ton of others I'm forgetting or don't go to. And it's not just clothing either; other stores range from candy shops to tech gifts like Brookstone to sporting goods to novelty stores. It's hard to think what else this place is missing.
If you come as a family, there is of course a kids area for them to blow off some steam from following you around during all that shopping.
The only drawback is that it is far from the city and that getting here on the bus takes painfully long from downtown. If you drive, then there is almost always backup on McKnight turning into the mall. It's alright after you get past that and actually get to the mall itself.
