  • I am a little embarrassed to be writing a negative review, as I have been to this eatery many times and it was always lovely. We went on a Saturday night -before- Valentine's day the next day, and it was crowded, yet not -packed- packed. We did not have to wait, though there was a wait list for a larger table. We were snagged by a waitress, she took our drink order[ more on that later], we got our water. Then a -different- waitress came to our table, took our appetizer order and right away asked for our dinner order selection.before we had even decided on our appetizer, pen hovering impatiently over order pad. Ok then. My husband ordered the crispy duck [Ped Gaeng Daeng* $18.00 Crispy roast duck topped red curry, coconut milk, tomatoes, pineapple, bell peppers & Thai basil.]. It arrived as we were still nibbling on our appetizer, without rice.[ different waitress -again-].And sat there.Waiting on my order I assume? There was nothing crispy about it- in fact, skin was"wet", and it was dry in inself[an admirable feat, achieving both at the same time, and yet here we were].They usually make amazing duck, but this blew. At this point in time, my order arrives[Sizzling Cod Filet with Soy and Ginger Sauce $18.99 Healthy, light and delicious Cod filet steamed in soy sauce, ginger, leek, fresh shitake mushroom and white wine, served on hot skillet.]. At this point, rice arrives for us both[tiny portion]. By now, my husband's duck is cold. had he been supposed to choke it down -before- my food came?It kinda -was- a pre valentine's date. My cod was very nice, but...it kinda is hard to mess up cod.It was in a lovely, fragrant broth, sure, but 19 bucks worth of broth and magical unicorn tears? probably not. Our drink orders? No where to be seen.Still.[ we had ordered thai iced teas] As my husband is hacking away at his "crispy"duck, ANOTHER server comes over, and asks if we are done. Yes.at that point we really were. We did not tip.Consciously. Because I have worked in the food industry for many a year.I've been a waitress. And the food was ok ish, there was no. service. to.be.seen.Who were we supposed to tip?the waitress who sat us down?the one who took our order?Or maybe the one who forgot our drinks?Or maybe the one who brought out the duck before the rest of the food? It was a big, confusing, rushed mess. This used to be my fave Thai joint. It sucked.
