| - I have to give this place 5 stars based on my Moms experiences, along with my own.
My Mom is Korean and is VERY picky about her soup. Ok, who am I kidding, she is very picky about everything, but especially picky about her soup. She requires a specific "Juice" (meaning broth) to "Goodies" (meaning meat and veggie) ratio. It also needs to be scalding hot in temperature with the right amount of spicy heat. If the criteria is not met, she sticks out her hand and gives a big thumbs down. Right in the restaurant, in front of everyone. Businesses need to be glad that she is not a Yelper.
I will let you know that Jun's kimchee soup has gotten a thumbs up. AND a smile. She proclaimed it one of the best that she has had in a long time. I have taken her for this soup 4 times in the past 3 weeks, and she might want to go for it again before the week is over.
I always get the soybean soup and it is always delicious, hot and spicy. My husband enjoyed his bulgogi the other day and the banchan selections are fresh and tasty. I prefer my kimchee to be a little extra old, but it comes out fresh and crunchy at this restaurant. Oh well, something I am fine with.
There is complimentary hot barley tea which pairs nicely with the hot and spicy foods.
Enjoy, 4 stars for vegan options / 5 stars for non vegan options. Thank goodness for tofu!
