Glacially slow.
I am a new customer at Bank of the West. A lot of my transactions are online. They take FOREVER. Transferring money from a checking account (with them) to a savings account (that I just opened with them) takes forever. Why? The money is with them. It's not like they have to "verify" that it's with them. They say they can't do anything over the weekend. Why? Do the computers need a break over the weekend? All I get as an explanation is that "it takes time." Other banks don't take this much time.
They seem friendly in person, but the glacially slow transactions are driving me nuts. I got a hold on a check I wrote to myself from another bank. I KNOW the money was taken out (because it came from an account with another bank). The money is quickly swept out of my other bank's account, so I know they have it, but they refuse to deposit it in BOTW for ten days? They just sit on my money for ten days, just because they can?
