| - I found myself at Lockdown for a corporate team building exercise. I thought I would be at a disadvantage since my team was made of three people instead of the required four (dropouts, ugh!) Luckily, one of my team members was a veteran of escape rooms and he took the lead on much of the problem solving.
When you walk in, the waiting space looks too small to house multiple game rooms. There are two sofas and the game mod has a small set up. If a team is leaving when you arrive, the moderator asks that you step outside so the game isn't spoiled for you. I think a separate entrance/exit would work better, but given the location, I guess it wouldn't work.
My team did Room 9, a spooky hotel room. It was a lot of fun tearing the room apart, and if you give in to the hokeyness of the situation, you won't be bored. I didn't check my phone once, which says a lot!
However, there are some technical aspects that took away from the game being totally immersive, namely some equipment used. Certain keys unlocked more than one box or didn't unlock at all. Certain locks were in need of replacing, as it hindered our gameplay that it didn't run smoothly. More than once, the mod came in to help us, assuring that it wasn't our fault that stuff wasn't working.
Still, this game was SO fun and I look forward to doing other escape rooms like this again!
