Today I went and bought some scones, like many times before. I go to support a small local shop, but also because they just make the best scones in the city.
Today I realized though, as mentioned by others, that there truly is a lack of friendliness when it comes to the service (I am not talking about speed of service). The women working there do not smile at all and 'thank you', 'goodbye' or 'happy holidays' does not seem to be part of their vocabulary (even when busy baking, this doesn't seem too much to ask).
I find this very odd. To Andrea: please explain and rectify this. Many shops including bakeries on the east-end provide excellent service with a smile and delicious scones alone do not suffice.
Happy holidays!
