  • Went to the Distillery District on the weekend to check out the Toronto Light Festival. Popped into Arvo Coffee for a quick hot chocolate before I made my made. If you've never been to this cafe, you must stop by! It has plenty of old-school charm including exposed brick, a 1920s-era marble countertop refurbished from the King Edward Hotel (according to owner Justin, who used to work at Lit Espresso Bar), and a hidden nook perfect for Sunday reading. The shop operates as a multi-roaster cafe and typically has beans from Transcend to Australia's own 7 Seed Coffee. While I didn't order a coffee on this trip, I can say that the sticky chai lattes are probably some of my favorite in the city. The staff are super personable and always willing to walk you through the menu or help you understand what's brewing that day.
