| - I used to be a memeber of the Cleveland Zoo, but has since moved away and have to sign up in my new city and state....
Today was Monday. That is free day at the Zoo for Cuyahoga residents. Bring your ID ( they DO check). You only pay if you want to hit up the Rain Forest and for non-residents.
Being today was Monday, I would think that the Zoo would be able to plan accordingly. Announcing a rather new and big elephant experience, I would hope they would know that they would have big crowds.
We arrived early, but knew we were in trouble... they directed when pulling in, and we drove to the very end of the lot before finding a parking spot. Never fear I told my mother we can wait for the tram to take us to the gate. Oh... no.... the train is not working today . UGH. Mom, baby, me, brother, walking... and getting hotter out... spells... UGH UGH!!
Now, the exhibits and such are great!!!! However, very few... VERY few stands were open. We didn't drag coolers or our own picnic lunch, and I was dissappointed in wanting something to drink and not being able to find it.
I am a big fan of the zoo, and those 'housekeeping' pains aside, the place is pretty great. We rode the camel ( BUMPY!), and rode the train... whhheeeee... and saw the Elephants, monkeys, Kangaroos.... the joy and excitement of the little one makes it worth it... just help a person out! Bring on the trams to our cars :)
