| - The warning light for my battery came on. I went to O'Reilly's, they ran their diagnostic test and it said that alternator, battery, starter, everything was fine. But the light stayed on. This morning, I drove to work, down the 17. I was very very fortunate in that I only lost steering as I was turning into my workplace, and not on the highway. Called a few mobile mechanics, this was the only one which could send someone out today. 5 PM was the earliest available.
Shaun was my mechanic. He arrived 2 hours early. Very knowledgeable, polite; great guy. He showed me the results of tests, replaced the bad alternator, and I got to go home on time. No more battery light. A replacement alternator was $282. which is not outrageous, especially since he came to where my car was. It took him about 1.5 hours to replace it. Again, can't recommend them highly enough.
