  • I almost feel like a jackass for giving this such a low rating, but since my experience didn't feel any special, why not be honest right? Once arriving at Prime, I noticed that things seemed to be a little out of order. My group (4 of us) had made a reso for 8pm, and arrived about 10 minutes early. Once I went to the hostess to confirm, she had told me it would be about 20 minutes (place was not even half full). Now, I don't mind waiting at all. I've been in the restaurant biz all my life, and I know the tricks of the trade. Mainly, when a restaurant is empty and they tell you to wait, it's generally a way to get you over to the side bar to buy a round of drinks. Usually I would take the bait because Kris loves me some drankssss....but this time we decided to pass since we were drinking at the pool all day. Once finally seated, the service was outstanding. If there was no food involved, I would give this place 5 stars on the service I recieved. By service, I mean someone who greeted us quickly, explained the menu in detail, provided a wine list, and made sure drinks were filled at any opportunity they could be filled. Now on to the food. EHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. I am no food snob. I would rather eat nachos and dirty water hot dogs then have a fancy french dinner. However, I do enjoy a nice outing every now and then, and don't mind spending for it. The sides were very good. It was a few weeks back, but I remember getting a potato side that was outstanding. Also, their side of brocali was perfect. The real problem was the steaks. 3 out of 4 of them were just horrendous. I ordered the Ribeye. I order Ribeyes' just about every where I go for steak. Mainly bc of the quantity, and the heaviness to the cut. This was probably the fattiest steak I have ever seen in my 26 years on earth. Where did they cut this from, the cows ass? Seriously, I was perplexed as to which part of the cow this fat came from. I looked around and almost laughed out loud because I thought I might have been on a game show. I ate up all of the side dishes, and the portions were a good size. I left about 3/4 of the steak with all of the fat cut up on the plate. Now, I would NEVERRRR complain about food at a restaurant, it's just no my style. The way I look at it, I CAME INTO YOUR KITCHEN, and you cooked for me. If I don't like it, shame on me. However, being a bartender I know that if I saw my guest barely touch his 60 or 70 dollar entree, I would ask if something was wrong. The server didn't say a word as he took my plate, which made me want to shove it down his throat. (Just kidding, wanted to add dramatic effect!) All in all, very nice place but I am sure there has to be better options for an expensive steak. And if there isn't, Im sticking to sushi and hooters.
