| - I've cycled through several dry cleaners which are located near where I live or on the way to something that I do regularly. In nearly every case, I have been disappointed with the job that they've done, the time that it has taken to get done, or the price charged. Perhaps I'm holding dry cleaners to too high of a standard, but until Prestige opened, I'd always had something to point out that just wasn't quite right.
Prestige is located in the base of the Vetro condo building, just around the corner from the Shoppers Drug Mart / Canada Post. This makes a quick stop here for errands really convenient, as does the fact that I live only a few blocks away. For those who are doing drive-by drop offs as they are headed north or south on McLeod Trail, there is a loading zone parking area right out front which is always empty - which adds to the convenience factor. You can jump out of your car, drop off or pick up, and be back in a few minutes! They have spent some time creating a welcoming, warm reception area which is unusual for dry cleaning businesses. They even have a comfy looking couch in case you have to wait (which I never have - bonus points!). I was able to get my dress, Mike's suit and 3 of his shirts rush-cleaned in a day for $40. Pretty good for downtown area rates! They also offer alterations, general laundry as well as pick up & delivery services! I haven't tried these services yet, but I'm almost looking forward to needing something altered so that I can try that out.
As an added bonus, Prestige is a family-operated business and you can see their son pitching into help on occasion. I like supporting mom and pop shops - particularly when they do as good (or in this case - an even better) job than their big box store competitors. Well done, Prestige - keep up the good work!!
