  • Growing up, I was raised going to doctor- visit for all of my wellness check ups. When your sick, you call the drs- meet with them for a few minutes, they prescribe medication and over the counter, you go home - take your meds and be in bed for the next few days to kill off the bacteria you have. As you get older, you do the same as Youve done as a child but, this time taking medications it gets harder to heal. Your stuck at home trying to fight it because you cant afford being out sick from work for not even a day, Praying the weekend will Hurry up so you can actually, sleep and rest! But, even active Mothers with young children - thats impossible to do and all you want is to figure out how to feel better! I disliked going to the doctors for the last few yrs, I used to get upset with my family Medicine doctor back home in Honolulu because the pills she was giving to me only made me feel much much worst and she couldnt figure out Why? So I completely stopped going n lost my trust. Decided to heal myself with plants that are medicinal from back home in Hawaii in the mountains or ocean. Now, that I live here in Arizona Its finding ways where I can still do the same and being able to meet a few friends that are Student Naturopathic Doctors at SCNM. I drive by this College a few times but, never bothered to go in because of uncertainties and today, im very blessed that I did to the basic information my friend had given to me. My first visit today was about 1.5 hrs - Ive had a certain issue Ive been dealing with for a few weeks and all the things that I had been doing just made my pain even worst. So with the 8 Pages of intake form I had to do prior to my student/Dr visit, I understand Why? They are not here trying to get you in and out of their Pain Relief Center, they are here trying to find the cause of your issue- where is starting and lets figure out a plan to relieve you from your issue but, at the same time their are others things that I need to change, such as my daily routine of eating habits that is a possibility to part of your issue- whhhat? No dairy, sugar, and/or caffeine... Lol! Ohhhh boy! And other factors It was such a pleasant visit that Ive never been in a doctors office for more than 20 minutes while the other 40 minutes is usually waiting in the waiting area for your name to be called. Student Dr. Chris, Student Dr. Christina and shucks there was another Student Dr as well that were such an inspiration to me, Dr. Seenauth and the staff members were explaining to me in details of what they were doing and Why? Gave me suggestions and Its up to me, if I want to do it! At the end, was the best part - Acupuncture, I am deathly afraid of needles - i dont care how small it is - I just cant do it! But, today I was able to accept what was happening, I closed my eyes and enjoyed the process. It was such an amazing feeling to feel your muscles and joints tingle in certain areas, pulsating in your leg or feet, and after I was done feeling soooooo relaxed/Happy! I wish more Health insurance cover this kind of work and im sure some do but, for me "Every dollar of my visit was worth it" because in the long run "You cannot place a price tag on learning to take care of yourself!" Life is too important to be weighed down not to enjoy it! Taking one step at a time of "Making your life better" is whats most important! Now, go schedule your student/Dr appointment - you will not regret it and if you do, than Its not time for change! \m/ Happy Aloha Friday and Thanks everyone at SCNM for making my first visit amazing
