First of all, the atmosphere of the Renaissance itself is fantastic. I came here on the Cultural District's Winter Gallery Crawl last night for appetizers. Our waitress was cheerful and our drinks were never empty (I down water like a fish, so finding waitstaff that can keep up is impressive).
I ordered the cheese board and my boyfriend ordered the "Strip District" mussels and frites. The mixed berry compote served with the board was phenomenal when paired with one of the spicy cheeses. Apples, crostinis, and roasted nuts added great texture and the cheeses themselves were yummy. The mussels were served with kielbasa to achieve the "Strip District"-esque theme. I can't decide what was better: the frites or just the aoli that they were served with.
