We dined at Il Vinaio on Saturday night. Got there early before the Chris Botti Concert at Mesa Arts Center. It was our first time at the restaurant. It is a pleasant place inside and out. We were greeted when we arrived and seated in the dining room. They do have a small bar that looks nice. Our server brought us a terrific bottle of Byron Chardonnay from Santa Barbara County in California. It was excellent and priced right. We paired the wine with a cheese plate that hit the spot. We also had green salads and pasta with meat sauce. The meat sauce was meaty but not a nice thick tomato sauce that we like. We both agreed it was too "watery" for our taste and that we would try something else next time. As they served rolls with the pasta that we good but not great. However, we had a great night and walked the three blocks to the Mesa Arts Center. It was a great evening, we will certainly be back.
