Atmosphere: super casual sort of place. Caffè style where one walks up to the counter to wonder then finds a spot. The cutlery and dishes are not the disposable sort (which would be a plus normally). Most of the seating is "communal" in the sense that there is a bar facing the window and a large table but few individual little tables.
Food: while the service was friendly and quick the pies left much to be desired. We ordered the chocolate pecan and the wild blueberry. The chocolate pecan had too little chocolate and very free pecans. It was in fact mostly gelly pie filling. The filling was runny and had inconsistent texture. The server offered to have the wild blueberry pie warmed up, but when we began to eat the pie we realized it was still cold. Both pies had the wrong filling to crust ration in our opinion.
Sure hope this isn't considered to be the best pie in Toronto.
