| - Ever since EOS bought out Gold's, it's been all down hill. The equipment has gone to utter crap. Treadmills wobbling or not working, hand pads missing on numerous pieces of lifting equipment, numbers missing off of the plates of weights so it's hard to tell what weight you are actually lifting when ALL of them are gone. Many other cardio machines are just in need of general maintenance; they squeak and look aged.
Setting the above aside, my main concern was that I signed up for a membership in December while still the formerly Gold's Gym. Apparently, the sale was going down already but the staff failed to inform me of this. Furthermore, they sold me the $19.95 a month plan, which allowed me to go to any Gold's in the country. Now that EOS has bought the place, I can no longer do this.
Second, I will not name the personal trainer that I am working with because I think he is a good guy. However, the level of training I receive is subpar. Have been promised for months a meal plan; have not received it. I continually have to remind him to send me a new workout plan after he tells me he's going to, but fails to do so. He's often started our sessions 5 mins late, resulting in me not getting a full 30 minutes of workout time with him. While it may seem futile, I pay a lot for personal training. EOS shouldn't be faulting the customer for the personal trainer's mismanagement of time.
Lastly, the management at the club and at corporate are horrible. I have tried to contact the manager numerous times regarding the above and he has not even bothered to call me back. I left messages with the same representative and she remembered me calling before and saying, "I don't know why he's not calling you, but he's in a meeting now with our district manager." When I asked for her to ask him to pick up the phone, she was not allowed to interrupt them.
I then wrote the EOS corporate because they do not have a customer phone number published (terrible and should throw red flags all over to everyone). They have also failed to respond to my inquiry.
In short, save your time and money and go to another reputable gym that has a good business model which treats their clients with dignity and respect, let alone appreciating their business.
