| - Attended a two day conference here. Location is terrific, right off I-17. The ballroom is attractive, with wood-trimmed walls and ceiling, which I'm sure helped with the acoustics, which were great. Didn't see any other rooms, just the lobby where the food is offered. Temperature of the ballroom was comfortable, usually I'm freezing or sweating at these events. The décor overall is somewhat dated, but very clean, which is what matters. No stained carpeting, and the bathrooms were well lit and clean. Staff is attentive and friendly. Okay, this is why I will go back in a heartbeat-the surprising food! Both days we were treated to breakfast, snacks, and a lunch buffet. We were expecting sandwiches and chips, but we were offered chicken with artichokes, flank steak, rice pilaf, mashed potatoes, broccoli, cauliflower mix, tomato/bacon chowder, and green salad! Day Two- pesto cream chicken, trout, orzo, fingerling potatoes, veg mix, beet and arugula salad, Tuscan soup; both days two different cakes for dessert. An afternoon snack buffet was offered at mid-afternoon break. The food is well-crafted, and not industrial-strength salty, as you normally get. Why am I rating 4, and not 5, stars? Breakfast Day One-the toaster took forever and a day to toast an English muffin. Not crazy about the buffet being offered in the lobby, right near front door, got chilly every time that door opened. The building is a little dated. But overall, very nicely done. I overheard many attendees express interest in using this place for their own events.
