| - Randomly came across this place, after having seen and heard about it from friends, after our child's soccer class Sunday morning... we were informed of a roughly 20-30 minute wait, which was about what we expected for a Sunday at about noon. They actually sat us within 15 minutes, so I really have no complaints there.
The service was good, attentive and responsive. Definitely busy, but again, expected for a Sunday afternoon.
Having no expectations for what they would have on their menu (other than pancakes), I was pleasantly surprised by their offerings. Essentially any kind of pancake and topping you wanted, crepe or French toast as well. We ended up getting lemon ricotta pancakes, hazelnut pancakes, and something on the other side of the menu that tugged at my little Filipina heart strings, Lolo's Adobo Fried Rice Omelete: chicken adobo, fried rice, all inside an omelete.
The Lemon Ricotta was soft and subtle - the lemon flavor rather eases its way in like an aftertaste, but was not as robust as I would have expected. The Hazelnut was what my Nutella-loving heart was after: Nutella, whipped cream, and crushed hazelnuts, which added a terrific crunchy texture to the mix. I additionally added bananas, which I highly recommend for a balanced sweetness.
The Adobo Rice Omelet: it brought me home. It felt like a home-cooled meal that my mom would have made me, and I was so glad to have stumbled across it. I honestly didn't need the potatoes that came on the side.
Overall, portion sizes were huge, decent service, good prices, good and varied selection sure to make each member of your party happy.
