| - The definition of Chaya in Japanese means "cafe that serves small meals", but there is nothing small in the flavor and oomph of the meals in this prominent noodle house.
I've had ramen in Chinatown, but it doesn't taste anything like the ones at Monta Chaya!
Tonkotsu Ramen which is Ramen that has a thick broth made from boiling pork bones, fat, and collagen, its stewed for many hours. The soothing rich and creamy pork broth is heaven is a bowl.
If that doesn't tickle your fancy, which would seem hard to imagine get the Kuro Ramen, its Black Garlic Oil, Pork broth, roasted garlic and thin noodles. The garlic wraps the pork flavor like a warm blanket.
Unfortunately, with this unbelievable food comes the inconvenience of waiting +20 min. for my name to be crossed off the list but as the old saying goes "its worth the wait." It's actually not that bad waiting, I usually walk over to the Japanese market next door to view sweet goodies.
Prices they charge is very reasonable considering the quality is off the chain.
Definitely put this place in your bookmark!
Monta Chaya is a legitimate noodle house!
