  • After seeing the reviews about this place, I figured it was time to drop in with my friends to see what the rave was about . We were originally planning to go to their location on Britianna but decided on the downtown location because we were heading to Glenbow afterwards for Free Thursday night. This location isn't that hard to find. Just walk in the direction of BMO centre til you reach 10 ave and once u see the impark parking lot it means u are close. The place is near the cul de sac at the end of the street. The exterior of this location is great, they have converted two parking stalls into seating space with benches and it's lovely to just sit there and chat with your friends on a sunny day. They have a good choice of favours, all made from real organic ingredients . I got guide's mint, which is mint chocolate made with organic mint and no green food colouring plus crushed cookie pieces. I wish they put less cookie pieces because these were starting to get soggy after a while and tbh i prefer plain mint. However, in western culture all desserts are chocolate this and chocolate that, what can I do? Also the $5 price for a single scoop in a cup and that includes tax. This means no extra surprise at checkout where the price is always higher than what we anticipated , thanks to GST. Waffle cones are a dollar more. Kids scoop in a cup is $3. They have free stickers and buttons #win The ice cream was good, but I found out the hard way that I might be allergic to organic mint. About half hour later on our way to the museum I started to itch on my legs. I've been eating mint chocolate ice cream for 10 years without a problem, never had a reaction til now. But my best guess is that the mint chocolate I've had before were all artifically favoured, as is the mint candy and toothpastes. I've loved mint for as long as I can remember but I haven't been exposed to real mint until now. I'm stubborn and mint is my only favour, if I go to any ice cream place and they don't have mint, I will be disappointed. Also, I don't know if the allergy trigger was actually mint or was it something in their ice cream base. Based on this concern, I don't think it is safe for me to visit this shop again, which is a bummer because I would love to return. Well at least the reaction was delayed for long enough for me to enjoy my ice cream and it wasn't very severe. I know what severe reaction for me is, it is when my eyes start watering and I start sneezing. If that happened then I would have to throw the ice cream out. That happened with earl grey tea in san diego , I couldn't finish because I started sneezing in the restaurant. I might go back if they have a seasonal sobert with no dairy, just fruit and ice. There seasonal favours change every month so there might be one for me.
