| - For ages, the only location for the Cornish Pasty Co. that I went to was the location in Tempe, which I also gave 5 Stars. I give 5 Stars to any golden standard that I can always come back to or if it's one of those places that I'll take a friend to who's never been.
Somehow, this location in Mesa is better. The Tempe location still deserves my full 5 Star-rating, but this one surpasses it. It deserves maybe a 5 GOLD Stars or something like that.
My friend Chris came in from out of town and had a hotel room in Mesa. I reserved a Zipcar, picked him up and this where we ate. Everything was perfect. I love the outdoor seating, I love the indoor seating, I love the decor and the food doesn't fuck around. The taste doesn't tip-toe and pussyfoot around while you chew on it, it loads the flavor into a shotgun shells and fires it into you mouth and laughs at you when you're taken back by how delicious everything is.
I love taking friends to places like this because you get to see their over-the-top reaction to it as well. It's like when you watch one of your favorite movies with a friend who's never seen it and you get to keep saying, "Oh, this is the best part." With the Cornish Pasty, it's the same thing, so many elements are the best part.
I want to be baked into a pasty and I want to eat my way out of one, but I don't want to drown in gravy or something.
