  • No stars are even too good for Budget Car Rental Phoenix Sky Harbor but it wouldn't let me post this without at least selecting one star. This agency is a rip off!! Please if you care about your money DO NOT ever rent from them!! They lie, up sell you without you even knowing it, then refuse to admit what they did!! Their corporate office is no better! The trick they played on us was to say "since its your birthday I will upgrade you to a premium car"? Then quickly rush you through the check out process so you don't notice they are charging your $32.00 a day for that "birthday gift"? Also that same Phoenix location also pulled this on a senior citizen who was in tears behind us because his bill went from the stated $100.00 to nearly $800.00! After reading the reviews of the Sky Harbor location, there are many similar stories, which reflects this is a common business practice of up selling without customer knowledge. Why would we use a third party to reserve the car only to upgrade at the counter? If we wanted a premium car we would have booked it with the 3rd party and it would have been much cheaper! Then when you call to complain and ask for a refund, the so called supervisors tell you they will check into it and get back to you in 24-48 hours. Well that never happens even after repeated calls to them. Then they don't even have the decency to call you back but instead send an email that says "we checked into it and find your charges to be legitimate, so the charges stand". Not even an apology came out of their mouths. So let this be a warning to all...Budget is not so budget!!!! Don't use them!
