  • We went here over a Thanksgiving weekend. The entire place was decorated for Christmas with Holiday trimming set up throughout the great hall. Checking in was a bit of a disaster. Everyone seems to check in between 2 and 5 PM and they were not prepared for the rush. People just left their car is in the open Drive area and it was very difficult to drop off luggage. We went to the waterpark every day we were there and the kids loved (my children are nine and five years old). The overwhelming smell of chlorine takes a little bit to get used to. For an indoor waterpark the slides were pretty impressive and the crowds were not that large. All of the rides are geared to small children which was nice. We did the ropes course (which my children loved) and the candlepin bowling as well (Which both myself and my wife enjoyed). The gym is almost nonexistent, And my wife's said the spa was nice. The pizza the restaurant downstairs seemed always to be in a constant state of chaos. We ordered pizza twice there in neither time did they get it right. Pizza itself was average at best. Probably the highlight of the trip for the children is the magiquest. It is like a scavenger hunt with runes and spells. For children 14 and under it would be something to take up an entire day. We had to do most of the quests with our five-year-old as he cannot read, and it is a lot of walking (based upon our pedometer we walked between seven and 8 miles doing the quest throughout the hotel). The staff was friendly and the rooms were clean, though fairly small. If you want privacy from your children you're going to need upgrade the room. Probably the most appealing thing to me was the cost which was relatively cheap for all the things that you got to do. Housekeeping only came once today at 6 PM. My children loved it and would've given it five stars, but my wife only gives it three stars so we're giving an average of four. If you have young children it's worth going here and letting them to have fun.
