I went here with 3 friends for dinner and let me just say - the food is AMAZING. I gave 4 stars due to particularly slow service at the start of the meal (this was amended later in the night when things sped up and the staff apologized, but it still put a damper on our mood to have to wait so long in between courses).
I ordered the pasta tasting menu and will go through course by course:
1) Baccala mezzune: This dish had a nice fish inside pasta, dehydrated olives, lemon, oregano. It was just the right amount of salty and lightly but complexly flavored.
2) Goat cheese tortellini with fried orange and wild fennel pollen: OH MY GOODNESS. So savory. Exactly what it sounds like. Could have eaten a pound of this one.
3) Tagliatelle with parsnips, guanciale and chili: This was ribbon pasta in a butter sauce with the stuff above. It was very good but of all the courses I might have skipped this one if I had to choose one to skip.
4) Alberto's Pyramids: PHENOMENAL. "This will ruin beef ravioli for you forever." That's what the waitress told us and she was right. Perfect pasta surrounding delicious braised beef in a tangy tomato based sauce. Also could've eaten a whole plate of these.
5) Beef cheek ravioli with black truffles and crushed duck liver: RICH RICH RICH. This one was delicious but oh-so-rich to the point where I couldn't finish my little portion.
6) Chocolate chip cannoli: Far from the usual over sweetened version of cannoli, B&B did it just right. It was lightly sweet but also had some nice bitter notes that went well with coffee.
Overall, would come back to this restaurant in an instant, but not if I have somewhere to be within 3 hours.
