I found Typh on Instagram & booked my appointment online more than a month in advance with the owner Typh for Small-Medium Feed In Cornrows for a Friday at 9am. When you book an appointment you have to pay half the total as a deposit online. I live in Salisbury and had a bit of a drive so I hit the road around 8am. In route I received a text message from Typh saying she needed to push the appt back to 9:30am. I was pretty annoyed since I needed to get to work. I stopped and picked up breakfast and arrived 10 minutes early. Typh didn't arrive until 9:45am and with prepping the hair and walking around talking with no sense of urgency, she didn't start on my head until 10:30AM. She asked me what color I wanted and stated she had pretty much all colors. I opted for a 2 with a bit of 30 mixed in to add some highlight. Once she started she didn't really stop much. She engaged in conversation with me as well as others in the shop and seemed pretty down to earth which I enjoyed. Near the end she had to have another stylist help finish braiding my ends because she was so far behind and had about 2 clients waiting for their appointments. I didn't like the way the stylist dipped them. The ends were still pretty raggedy. Typh came over and trimmed the ends. I love the way their braiding doesn't frizz as others i've gone to and the ends were nicely trimmed to look natural. She also checked the length with me and cleaned the ends up a bit more when I asked for them to be a bit shorter. However she didn't completely finish until 2:30pm totaling 4 hours for the hairstyle which were layered cornrows. When I got home that night I re-dipped them myself to get them straight how I like them. While I LOVED my braids, I was super annoyed with the timing it took to start. For that start time I could've stopped into work and came back at 10:30 when she had the hair ready and was ready to begin. I feel like she doesn't value her clients time. But I could be wrong and this could be a fluke. So i'm giving her a 4 out of 5 until I return to see if this is a habit. But I will definitely recommend for the quality of the braids and will be returning myself.
