As a fan of Winghearts, I've been looking forward to the opening of this new venture. We grabbed seats at the bar while waiting for our friends. The gin-heavy drink list had two pages of interesting choices and the bartender was happy to make a recommendation. We chatted with the others at the bar, mostly Dormont locals equally excited to see a new option in the neighborhood.
When our friends arrived we decided to stay at the bar & order food there, and it didn't disappoint! We tried a handful of the appetizers, and the fish and chips, gobi, and Scotch eggs were terrific. By far my favorite was the beef Wellington bites - the variation on a traditional dish was amazing!
There may be a feeling that it takes longer than usual for drinks - as with any small bar making craft cocktails, the investment of time to hand make the drinks is worth it. I had my first gin martini (served at a specific temperature and the most delicious olive this olive hater has ever tasted) and I'll be dreaming about it until I return.
Looking forward to my return to try more of the cocktail list and eat a full meal soon.
