| - C & I stopped here for dinner on our way to his performance in Pinocchio. This is a large restaurant as far as Paradise Bakery goes. I've been to 3 other locations all in Chandler and this one is big. C checked out the pastry case and then he and I perused the menu. There are a lot of choices on the kids menu. Way more than we're used to seeing. C got to choose from 3 different sandwiches, Noodles, Turkey Chili, half salad, soup, Mac & Cheese, PB&J, and Grilled Cheese. For me there are lots of salads, soups, sandwiches from which to choose.
The counter help was pleasant and answered our questions as we placed our order.
C decided on the grilled cheese ($4.19) which came with a Gogurt and the chocolate chip cookie. He added a chocolate milk ($1.69). The bread was fresh and the cheese gooey. No grill marks on the bread however so I got the impression it was possibly nuked. C liked it and gave it a thumbs up as well as the organic Chocolate milk but since that comes in a carton, didn't really much matter. Of course, the chocolate chip cookie got a thumbs up as well.
I ordered the large Cobb Salad with Avocado ($8.59) and a large drink ($2.19). The salad was fresh, the chicken had a nice flavor, a bit on the dry side, but passable. The avocado had no brown/black pieces in it which was beautiful and the hard boiled egg was perfect. Winner winner cobb salad dinner.
It was 4:45 on a Thursday night when we arrived and there was plenty of seating in the dining room. However, the dining room was a mess. There may be lots of tables, but that doesn't really help when lots of them are dirty. It's about to roll into prime dinner time and the dining room was pathetic. Bad management. No excuse here.
Decent salad & kids meal, dirty dining room, friendly staff. 3 Stars.
