Was in the neighborhood last weekend and I finally got to have lunch at Ollie Vaughn's. Greeted with friendly service in a restaurant with a charming interior. On this lovely day in Phoenix, we chose to dine outside. The patio had the perfect balance of sun and shade, along with fruit trees and a selection of vegetables and herbs growing in the back. The perfect place to dine and enjoy a beautiful sunny day.
I opted for the chard grilled cheese sandwich with mushrooms on a toasted brioche, with a tasty bowl of soup, which made for the perfect lunch paring. I also sampled the kale salad- the dressing was delicious, citrusy and crisp. There were also many tempting deserts in the bakery case, unfortunately at this point I was stuffed. I can't wait to come back and sample some more of the sandwiches, soup, and salads- next time I'll save room for desert!
